Rowan Futhark Runes

This set of runes is handcarved from one branch of Rowan into squares. Each rune is pyrographed and painted red with an eco-friendly woodstain - so the runes can't be rubbed of or worn away.The grain of this pale wood is absolutely beautiful and is finished with linseed oil and polished with beeswax. Each rune piece is 1" (2.5cm) long, and as a traditional set there is no blank rune. Rowan is a masculine wood with the firey protective energy of Mars and it also is one of the four great divination woods, they being Rowan, Hazel, Blackthorn, and Yew. Rowan has been used for centuries as a protective charm, and rune-charms carved into this were believed to be extremely powerful by the Norse.
